Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere and veteran marksman Eric Kapaito are over the moon following their narrow 1-0 win over struggling Murang'a SEAL 1-0 on Sunday in their Kenya Premier League tie played at St. Sebastian Park in Murang’a
Kapaito who delivered the decisive goal in the 79th minute to propel the brewers to 14th on the log hopes the win will spark a turnaround for the struggling side that has endured a lukewarm start to the season.
"I am happy. We have been curving and really needed the three points. My teammates and I worked hard throughout the week, and now we have the three points. "A jubilant Kapaito remarked.
The game looked tense and nerve-racking from the get-go, neither side scoring at the first half. Kapaito then delivered the decisive goal at the 79th minute, after latching onto a looping pass from their forward Dennis Oalo and scoring past the seal's goalkeeper, despite a previous injury.
The victory moved them to 14th place on the table, standing with five points.
Tusker coach Charles Okere has backed his striker's sentiments, saluting his charges and management for striving to turnaround their fortunes after a poor season.
"Before this game we had a plan, watching them through match analysis. It was a tactical game to have that composure, and that is what happened. So congratulations to Kapaito and the team. "Okere stated.
The club now with a boosted morale shift their focus to maintaining the consistency as they prepare for their round six match against Kariobangi Sharks on October 29 at 1 p.m.
