KMPDU announces death of Secretary General Davji Atellah's father

The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists
Union (KMPDU) Secretary General, Dr. Davji Atellah, is mourning the loss of his
father, Moses Atellah Abonyo, who passed away on Sunday evening.
Dr. Atellah confirmed to Citizen Digital that his father
died at 5p.m. while receiving treatment at Gendia Kendu Adventist Hospital in Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale condoled with Dr.
Atellah following the news, with KMPDU National Chairman Dr. Abidan Mwachi saying
the late Mzee Atellah had been battling a chronic illness for some time but had
recently shown signs of recovery.
“We regret to announce the passing on of Dr. Davji Atella’s
father today at 5p.m. Mzee has been fighting a chronic illness for some time
now but was recently in very high spirits and good state of mind,” read the
statement.
Dr. Mwachi extended condolences to the union leader and his
family, urging members and friends to uphold them in prayer during this
difficult time.
“May we pray for grace and calmness to the Secretary General
and indeed his extended family during these difficult times,” he added, noting
that “the loss of a father represents major dynamic shifts within a family
unit.”
