As the Women's Premier League enters its second round this
weekend, Kisped Queens are aiming for their first win of the season against
Ulinzi Starlets.
Last weekend, Kisped lost 2-1 to Zetech Sparks
in a match that head coach Daniel Minjis says he has learned from and will
correct the mistakes made as they prepare to face Ulinzi.
"We have worked on our weak areas; I know
it will not be easy for us, and it will not be a walk in the park for Ulinzi as
well. We are aiming for at least a draw against them. Our target this season is
to finish the campaign in a better position than last season. A top five finish
will be good one for us, because last season we finished seventh," Minjis
told Citizen Digital.
The tactician further acknowledged that Ulinzi
have experienced players, many of whom are part of the national team, Harambee
Starlets, but he has put in place strategies to contain them and secure a
positive result.
"They are good in set pieces and midfield,
with the likes of Ngaira and many more in the national team, we know they have
depth but we have prepared well for them," Minjis added.
Meanwhile, the match between Ulinzi Starlets
and Kisped Queens is scheduled for Sunday at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in
Nairobi, kicking off at 1:00p.m.
Elsewhere, several exciting matches are lined
up across the country as well. On Saturday, October 11, 2025, all eyes will be
on the clash between Police Bullets and Zetech Sparks at the Police Sacco
Stadium in Nairobi, as both teams look to build early-season momentum.
In Kisumu, Vihiga Queens will lock horns with
Kibera Soccer Women at Moi Stadium, as Gideon Starlets will welcome Kayole
Starlet to the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.
Action continues on Sunday, October 12, 2025,
with Ulinzi Starlets hosting Kisped Queens at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in
Nairobi.
Kisped will be aiming for their first win of the season,
while Ulinzi hopes to capitalise on home advantage. Elsewhere, Kisumu
Allstarlets will face Soccer Assassins at Moi Stadium, Kisumu, as Trinity Starlets
entertain Bungoma Queens at Comboni Polytechnic in Gilgil.
All matches are scheduled to kick off at 1:00pm, as teams continue their quest for early dominance in the new FKF Women’s
Premier League season.
