The momentum comes as Big 5 Construct Kenya, the country’s largest international construction exhibition, gears up for its 8th edition at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi from November 5–7, 2025.
According to the World Bank, Kenya’s economy is expected to grow by 4.5% in 2025, underscoring the resilience of its construction and infrastructure sectors amid global economic headwinds. The sector’s robust growth is supported by the government’s Vision 2030 Construction Industry Development Policy and a national target to deliver one million housing units by 2027, creating opportunities across the construction value chain, from materials and machinery to project finance and technology.
“Kenya’s construction sector is gaining real momentum, fuelled by ambitious infrastructure programs and nationwide housing initiatives under Vision 2030,” said Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President of dmg events, the organizer of Big 5 Construct Kenya. “The exhibition connects decision-makers, innovators, and suppliers, helping the industry discover practical solutions and partnerships that will shape Kenya’s construction landscape.”
This year’s event will feature over 150 exhibiting brands from more than 20 countries, showcasing the latest building technologies, equipment, and systems tailored to Kenya’s evolving urban needs. The line-up includes global names such as Jaquar, Cleopatra Group, Stanley Black and Decker, Mapei, Framecad, and Mark Décor, among others.
Organizers expect over 9,000 industry professionals to attend, including project managers, contractors, engineers, architects, consultants, and government representatives. The exhibition will span 12 product sectors, covering key areas such as building interiors and finishes, concrete and cement, HVAC systems, digital construction technologies, solar solutions, and modular construction.
In addition to the exhibition, participants will benefit from CPD-certified Big 5 Talks, a learning platform featuring 45 regional and international experts leading more than 25 free-to-attend sessions on project management, sustainability, technology, and design. The sessions provide opportunities for professional development and collaboration on solutions to local and regional challenges.
With major infrastructure projects such as the Nairobi-Mombasa Usahihi Expressway and OrPower 22 Geothermal Plant underway, analysts say the event comes at a time when the sector’s demand for skilled labour, advanced technology, and capital investment is at an all-time high.
