Kenya has been recognised for its technological advancements and commitment to improving public service delivery and road safety at the 6th Annual Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards (APSCA) held on Thursday evening in Cape Town, South Africa.

During the gala event, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) emerged as one of the biggest winners, receiving the Digital Transformation in Public Transportation Award. The accolade celebrates NTSA’s strides in digitizing its systems and services, transforming the Authority into a fully paperless and technology-driven institution.

On his part, NTSA Director General George Njao was individually celebrated for his visionary leadership, earning a standing ovation as he received two top accolades: Public Sector Personality of the Year and Digital Transformation CEO of the Year.

These honours recognised his outstanding contribution to road safety management and his pivotal role in steering NTSA’s digital transformation journey, minimizing human interactions in service processes

“Less human interaction between clients and our staff not only enhances efficiency but also reduces opportunities for compromise and corruption—ultimately leading to citizen-centric service delivery and increased revenue for the government,” said Mr. Njao.

“These achievements reflect Kenya's push for efficiency across all Government agencies.”
