Hosts Kenya Lionesses fell 22-0 to a clinical South Africa as the Springboks lifted their record-extending tenth Rugby Africa Women's Sevens title at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi on Sunday afternoon.

Lionesses were eyeing their second Africa Women’s 7s crown following their maiden glory in the 2018 edition but home soil advantage was not enough to dethrone the defending champions, who also prevailed in last year’s final.

Kenya has finished as runners-up seven times, including in 2023 and 2024.

The Bok Women, who have won every Rugby Africa Women's Sevens Cup final they played in the history of the tournament, have qualified for the eight-team SVNS Series Division Three competition that will be staged as a standalone Challenger event in Dubai in January.

The South Africans - who didn't concede one try during the entire tournament - beat Ghana 48-0 and Madagascar 29-0 in the quarter- and semi-finals to book their spot in the final.
