Kenya Airways releases onboard tribute to late Raila Odinga

The KQ plane was renamed to RAO001, a reference to Raila's name initials and in respect to his valid contributions towards the country's history. 

Narrated by Captain Saviemaria Ondego, the tribute revealed how the former Prime Minister's influence transcended across Kenya and Africa. 

KQ also shared how Raila was a firm believer in the national airliner, citing how his advocacy played a key role in the aviation sector. 

Kenya Airways also expressed condolences to Raila's family and the entire nation at large for the loss of a respected leader. 

Raila, 80, passed away after collapsing in the Indian city of Kochi, where he had been under treatment for an undisclosed illness.

On Friday, a State funeral service was held at the Nyayo Stadium as government officials and foreign dignitaries paid their last respects to the late ODM leader. 

On Saturday morning, Raila's body arrived in Kisumu for public viewing at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Mamboleo from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

The former Prime Minister's burial is set for Sunday at his hometown in Bondo, Siaya, in a private ceremony.

Raila Odinga was a respected leader in Kenya and a vital supporter of Kenya Airways. His advocacy helped shape our growth in Africa, highlighting the role of aviation in driving economic change. His legacy will inspire us as we pursue greatness and unity in propelling Africa's prosperity.

Our thoughts are with Mama Ida Odinga, the Odinga family, friends, supporters and all Kenyans during this difficult time.
