Isiolo family in anguish as kin kidnapped in broad daylight

Guyo Lubo was reportedly abducted on Friday, December 19, 2025, from Isiolo town’s central business district. Speaking to journalists in Isiolo on Monday, his family and friends, led by his wife Tume Jillo Waqo and niece Diba Gutu, appealed to government to urgently investigate the incident.

According to the family, Guyo — a father of four and husband to two wives — was seized at around 7:04pm outside Merti Hotel. Witnesses say he was forced into a waiting vehicle and driven off while still struggling, with his legs reportedly hanging outside the vehicle as members of the public looked on helplessly.

The incident was reported to the Isiolo Police Station and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). However, four days later, Guyo’s whereabouts remain unknown, deepening the distress of his family, friends, and the wider community.

Guyo’s wife, Tume Jillo Waqo, also raised serious concerns about her husband’s health. She revealed that he had recently undergone brain surgery to remove a tumour and was still on medication at the time of his abduction. She warned that missing his medication for the duration he has been missing could significantly worsen his condition.
