Investigations as two killed in Kakamega County

Police have initiated investigations following the death of two people in Lurambi, Kakamega County.

The first incident involved the murder of a night guard at a petrol station by a gang of robbers.

“The guard was ambushed at night, a short distance from the police station,” Evans Shimonyo, a resident, said.

Separately, about two kilometers from the scene, the body of a man was discovered abandoned along the Kakamega-Webuye highway.

“The body was found abandoned along the roadside in Shimalavandu during late-night hours,” police said.

Kakamega OCPD Vincent Cherutich confirmed that investigations are ongoing, as residents continue to protest over the rising insecurity in the area.
