Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omolo reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring the integrity and smooth operation of the ongoing national exams.

PS Omolo praised the seamless coordination among government agencies in maintaining order during the exam period, speaking on Wednesday morning while overseeing the opening of an examination container and paper distribution at the office of the Starehe Deputy County Commissioner.

“We have not had any major incidents since the exams started, and this is because of the good coordination,” said Omolo.

The PS stated that the Ministry of Interior has been working closely with the Ministry of Education to ensure adequate security and logistical support throughout the period.

According to the Ministry of Interior, over 600 containers across the country are being closely monitored to ensure the safe storage and timely delivery of examination materials.

PS Omolo acknowledged that the ongoing short rains had created logistical challenges in some areas, but assured that the exams' integrity would be unaffected.

“We had a case in Tana River where floods disrupted access, but was resolved. We are going to ensure that exams get to the centre at the right time,” he said.

The Ministry further announced plans to establish a national command centre at the sub-county level to ensure real-time monitoring and prompt response to any emerging issues.

“We shall access information from this side to see where there are gaps. In previous instances we've had early exposure and we shall ensure that this is well managed from Monday; we are working with ministry of ICT to take immediate action,” he stated.

Omolo also issued a stern warning against attempting to leak exam material or defraud parents online.

“We have a team from ICT we are also looking on people using social media and those collecting money from unsuspecting parents, teachers or students, where we find breaches, we will act accordingly.”

The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) concludes today, while Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) continues across the country.
