Police officers in Ndhiwa Sub-County, Homa Bay County, have launched a manhunt for suspects linked to the brutal murder of a 45-year-old man in a revenge attack in South Kanyamwa Location.

The deceased, William Ojwang’, was attacked and killed while attending a meeting with his group members in Kochola village.

His killing was reportedly sparked by an earlier assault on three children belonging to one of the suspects, which occurred last Tuesday while they were returning from a funeral night vigil in Kachwanya Sub-Location.

According to area chief Richard Omollo, the suspects had been trailing Ojwang’, accusing him of attacking the children and causing them harm.

On the day of the incident, authorities received intelligence that Ojwang’ was attending a meeting in Kochola.

When the suspects arrived at the gathering, they attacked him with pangas and other crude weapons, fatally injuring him on the spot.

After the attack, the suspects fled the scene before law enforcement officers arrived.

The body of the deceased has been transported to Ndhiwa Sub-County Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being intensified to apprehend the suspects, who remain at large.
