In a statement on Tuesday, Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura said the death toll now stands at 39, with 9 people still reported missing and 6 others receiving treatment.
"Search, rescue, and recovery operations are ongoing and the Government remains dedicated to ensuring that every missing person is accounted for, and every affected family receives adequate support," stated the Government Spokesman.
The government has called upon leaders, organisations, institutions, and all compassionate Kenyans of goodwill to join in standing with the families as “this moment calls for unity, empathy, and collective responsibility."
"The Government reiterates its unwavering commitment to ensuring that all affected households receive adequate humanitarian assistance and long-term support,” said Mwaura.
The funeral ceremonies for the victims will take place on different dates in November.
"To support ongoing needs- including resettlement, and other essential family support requirements- a harambee will be held on Thursday, 13/11/2025, at AIC Milimani, Nairobi, beginning at 4:00 pm,"
The spokesperson further said measures are being taken to restore livelihoods and strengthen community safety and resilience in the affected areas.
