The Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services has
released Ksh.881 million to support households under the Cash Transfer
for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (CT-OVC) programme.
In a statement on Monday, the ministry said the funds will
benefit 440,537 households enrolled in the Inua Jamii initiative,
with each household receiving Ksh. 2,000.
The payment covers the August 2025 cycle and will be
processed through the eCitizen platform beginning September 29.
The CT-OVC programme is designed to encourage the fostering
and retention of orphans and vulnerable children within their families and
communities while promoting long-term human capital development.
According to the ministry, the initiative aims to boost
school enrolment and transition, improve health and nutrition, enhance
household food security, and strengthen child protection mechanisms.
