Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to working with development partners to accelerate access to clean water, decent housing, and improved living standards across the county.

Speaking during a meeting with a delegation from Habitat for Humanity Kenya, who paid her a courtesy call at her office, Governor Wavinya underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing the county’s development agenda—particularly in the critical sectors of water and housing.

“We are looking for partners with whom we can implement more water projects together, such as weirs, because water is very key,” said Governor Wavinya. “As a county, we have already constructed about thirty-six weirs, and in those areas, residents are now practising agriculture.”

The discussions centered on strengthening ongoing collaborations and exploring innovative approaches to sustain transformative community projects in Machakos.

Officials from Habitat for Humanity Kenya commended Governor Wavinya for her leadership and continued support for partnership-driven development.

They expressed appreciation to the County Government of Machakos for fostering a conducive environment for collaboration and pledged to continue supporting the county through impactful water and housing initiatives that improve community livelihoods.

Governor Wavinya reiterated that her administration remains committed to building strong partnerships that drive sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for all residents of Machakos County.
