K’Ogalo are on a four-match winning run and have achieved the feat without conceding a single goal, since their only league defeat in the opening fixture against Bidco United on September 21.

The record champions defeated Mathare United 2-0 on Thursday to jump to the second spot in the standings on 12 points, one behind leaders Kakamega Homeboyz, who have played one more match.

Contrastingly, newly appointed Ulinzi Stars coach Stephen Ocholla will be out to snap the Soldiers’ poor run which saw Dunstan Nyaundo fired after winning only one match and losing three, with two draws.

Ocholla captained Ulinzi, winning the title in 2010 and he returned to the club after 13 years of playing when he retired in 2017 and later transitioned into coaching.

Elsewhere, Homeboyz will seek to maintain their grip on the league summit when they host Tusker at Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday.

Homeboyz have had a high flying start to the new season notching four wins, one draw and one loss while former champions Tusker, currently sixth on the log have won two straight matches on the bounce.

History making Nairobi United resume their local duties after qualifying for the CAF Confederation group stage in their first time of asking with a 7-6 triumph in post-match penalties away to Tunisian club Etoile Sportive du Sahel (ESS) after a 2-2 aggregate draw over two legs.

The Naibois who have played three league matches, securing two wins and one defeat, host Sofapaka at Dandora on Saturday with the newly promoted side out to replicate their continental performance at home.

Sofapaka, languishing 13th in the standings with just one win under their name will be desperate to turn their fortunes around.

Reigning champions Police whose CAF Champions League debut ended in the preliminary round after a 4-1 aggregate defeat (3-1 in the second leg) to Sudan’s seasoned team, Al Hilal Omdurman, host third-placed Posta Rangers at Police Sacco.

Police resume their local assignment without their title-winning coach Burundian Etienne Ndayiragij who left his role earlier this week. The Law Enforcers have played only two matches, winning once and losing the other one.

Unbeaten AFC Leopards play eighth placed Mathare United who have been blowing hot and cold this season.

Leopards are currently placed sixth on eight points, five adrift of Kakamega Homeboyz and one above Mathare United, although Ingwe have played one fewer match.
