According to a police report obtained by Citizen Digital, officers Jim Murithi, Emmanuel Sang, Antony Wangombe and Joshua Keter were taken into custody at Naivasha Police Station following investigations that linked them to the shooting and subsequent cover-up of Corporal Hassan Lolkidid's death.
The initial report, filed on October 29, 2025, stated that a police patrol team comprising Corporal Lolkidid, the four suspects, officers Richard Muriithi and Wycliffe Okello received a tip-off about a suspicious lorry being offloaded with tyres and hardware materials in the Msikiti area, about one kilometre west of Maai Mahiu Police Station.
The officers arrived at the scene and found about ten men offloading the goods. Moments later, the men fled in different directions after the police team attempted to interrogate them.
During the pursuit, gunshots were fired, and Corporal Lolkidid was later found with a fatal wound to the chest.
Following the incident, the police team denied discharging their weapons, citing that the source of the gunfire was unclear.
The officers' firearms, five in total, including Jericho pistols and Ceska handguns, were confiscated for ballistic examination.
The lorry was also towed to Maai Mahiu Police Station for further investigation, while the body of the deceased officer was moved to Umme Funeral Home pending an autopsy.
Preliminary investigations, however, revealed that the four officers were linked to the cover-up of their colleague's death, leading to their arrest.
The police officers will be arraigned on October 31, 2025.
