Flora Food Group has unveiled BlueBand with Vanilla, a new product aimed at tapping into heightened household consumption and baking activity as Kenyan families gear up for the festive season.
Rolling out nationwide across supermarkets and retail outlets, the new variant is positioned to meet growing demand for convenient and versatile baking solutions during the Christmas period, traditionally marked by increased home cooking and family gatherings. BlueBand with Vanilla is a dual-purpose product, combining the brand’s established nutritional profile with a rich vanilla flavour, making it suitable for both baking and spreading.
The launch comes as Flora Food Group steps up its innovation drive within Kenya’s highly competitive fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) market, responding to evolving consumer tastes.
Children and young people, who increasingly influence household purchasing decisions during the festive season, remain a key focus of the brand’s strategy.
Speaking during the launch, Pheodor Njoroge, Head of Marketing for East and Southern Africa at Flora Food Group, said the new product builds on the company’s recent run of successful innovations.
“The festive season is a key period for home baking and family meals. BlueBand with Vanilla offers consumers a convenient way to achieve great taste and consistency, while building on the momentum of BlueBand with Choco and BlueBand Peanut Butter Crunchy, which have performed strongly among younger consumers,” said Mr Njoroge.
He noted that the product responds to growing demand for time-saving solutions that do not compromise on quality or nutrition.
“By combining flavour, functionality and nutrition in one product, we are making festive baking easier and more enjoyable for households and small-scale bakers alike,” he added.
From a nutrition standpoint, BlueBand with Vanilla is cholesterol-free and fortified with naturally occurring Vitamin E, aligning with rising consumer awareness around healthier food choices, even during typically indulgent festive periods.
