FKF President Hussein Mohammed made the announcement on Wednesday during the unveiling of a sponsorship deal , which saw three NSL clubs – 3K FC, Migori Youth FC, and Kisumu All Stars – receive KSh 6 million in support, alongside full home, away, and third kits for the upcoming campaign.
Hussein emphasized that the decision to televise and air NSL matches is part of a wider strategy to enhance visibility and growth at the second-tier level.
“NSL also deserves to be covered on radio, also deserves to be covered on live coverage. Within this season, I assure you, we will have a few of your games live on TV. So that we can continue to build and give you more publicity and exposure, and we can continue to build your clubs at that level,” he said.
The FKF boss highlighted that increased coverage will not only boost the competitiveness of NSL clubs but also make them more appealing to potential sponsors.
He noted that the exposure will give players and coaches a bigger platform while also deepening fan engagement across the country.
However, Hussein was quick to stress that growth cannot be realized without good governance. He called on clubs to embrace accountability and transparency in the management of resources.
“It is only the beginning, we are going to do more. So governance becomes very important at the club level.
"Make sure that whatever you do, you are accountable whenever the resources come, that you are transparent in how you do your things, and that you also have integrity in how we run the game. That is the only way you will attract more partnerships and more sponsors to come on board,” he added.
The NSL, often viewed as the direct pathway to the top-flight FKF Premier League, has struggled with limited visibility and minimal commercial support in the past.
FKF’s latest commitment, coupled with the latest sponsorship, signals a new chapter that could redefine how the league is perceived and consumed by fans.
With hopes of televised matches, radio broadcasts, and fresh investment, the 2025/26 NSL season promises to be one of the most engaging in recent years.
