Five NBA players with African ties are making waves in the 2026 NBA All-Star voting ahead of the weekend in Los Angeles, set for February 13–16.

In the Western Conference, San Antonio Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama (France; ties to DRC) is ranked fifth behind Luka Dončić, Nikola Jokic, Steph Curry, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Eastern Conference is led by Giannis Antetokounmpo (ties to Nigeria), with Cameroonian Pascal Siakam of the Indiana Pacers at No. 10, O.G. Anunoby (ties to Nigeria) with the New York Knicks at No. 13, and 2023 MVP Joel Embiid (Cameroon) at No. 17.

Dončić and Antetokounmpo (ties to Nigeria) remain the leaders in their conferences in the second fan returns in NBA All-Star Voting 2026.

Voting closes Thursday, January 15, with All-Star starters set to be announced Monday, January 19.

This year, the NBA will feature a new All-Star format: two U.S. teams and one World team (international players) competing in a round-robin tournament of four 12-minute games.

The All-Star Game itself is scheduled for Monday, February 16, at 12 a.m. CAT from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, home of the LA Clippers.
