A family in Kuresoi, Nakuru County, is in pain after their mentally challenged daughter was sexually abused by an individual allegedly working for a prominent government official in the South Rift region.

Speaking at Kapsing'oi, Kiptororo Ward, in Kuresoi North, Nyumba Kumi elder Boniface Rono said the girl was molested when she was in Grade Six and has never received support or help.

He said they have been struggling to push through, but the molester has allegedly been threatening them.

The victim's mother demanded that the accused be apprehended and charged in a court of law to serve justice to the innocent girl.

“My girl is traumatised. She is no longer attending school, and we are at a loss about what to do,” she said.

Rop Korir, an official from World Vision, said the family needs justice as she lost the opportunity to continue schooling to nurse the baby.
