Family demands justice after woman found raped, murdered outside Gatundu bar

Preliminary reports revealed that the body of the mother of one was discovered by passersby on Sunday, June 28, in a state that has prompted a deep, chilling probe. 

The deceased's body was then transferred to a local mortuary awaiting an autopsy. 

Nyokabi's family members expressed deep concern over the lack of regular updates from investigators on the probe, citing that the perpetrators may eventually evade justice. 

However, Gatundu South sub-county Police Commander Jane Makena said a probe is underway, urging anyone with actionable intelligence to step forward, promising strict confidentiality.

Further, local residents attributed the surge in violent crime and sexual offenses to the rising wave of illicit substance abuse in the area.

They have since called on relevant authorities to launch a multi-agency crackdown on drug and substance abuse, as well as to implement heightened security measures to guarantee the community's safety.
