Exam officials, school cook among 26 arrested in KCSE cheating scandal

This brings the total number of arrests related to the KCSE exam cheating scandal to 71 since the examinations began.
Oceania Junior Secondary School, located in Mombasa at the Shelly Beach examination centre, tops the list of institutions linked to the KCSE exam cheating scandal.
The suspects arrested in Oceania Secondary School comprise Edinah Furaha Nelson (Centre manager), Omar Rashid Mzungu (Invigilator), Collins Oduor Oteyo (Invigilator), Steven Kimani Kamau (Invigilator), Lucy Awino Odhiambo (Invigilator), Mwanajuma Zami Chale (Invigilator), and Lina Owiti (Cook), alongside six students.
In Bungoma County, at St. Cecilia Secondary School, the suspects include Winny Musamala (Invigilator), Mercy Loponi (Invigilator), Annette Oswani (Invigilator), Rose Barasa (Invigilator), and Charles Wafula (Invigilator).
In Migori County, at St. Anne’s Sunrise Secondary School, those implicated are Benard Otieno (Deputy centre manager) and George Oudo (Invigilator).
At Agoro Sare Secondary School, the arrested invigilators are James Nyasani Nyakundi and Peter Odhiambo Sima.
At Friends Kaptola Secondary School in Bungoma, the suspect arrested is Alvin Nyongesa, a civilian with no official role at the institution.
Students arrested include one from Magunga Secondary School, one from Sangailu Secondary School, one from Sosiani Secondary School, and six from Oceania Secondary School.
