A family in M’mbitindo village, Emuhaya Constituency, is counting losses running into thousands of shillings after unknown individuals destroyed their vegetable farm.

According to Stephen Bulimo, a farm worker discovered the destruction when he went to the field to spray the vegetables. The crops had been uprooted and left scattered across the farm.

Residents of the area have condemned the incident, saying such acts discourage self-reliance and hinder development among families who depend on farming for their livelihoods.

Another resident, Salemo Andeo, said the affected family and the wider community are now living in fear, as the motive behind the attack remains unclear. He noted that the perpetrators did not steal the vegetables, but instead left them destroyed in the field, raising concerns about the safety of local farmers.
