The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has joined other independent oversight institutions in renewed calls for stronger accountability, transparency and prudent use of public resources.

EACC Chairperson Dr David Oginde attended a consultative meeting of heads of Commissions and Independent Offices (CCIO) on October 13, 2026, where officials discussed ways to improve coordination and strengthen public service delivery.

The meeting was chaired by Auditor-General Nancy Gathungu, who also leads the CCIO forum.

Discussions centred on accountability, transparency and sound governance, with participants examining shared challenges and opportunities for collaboration in carrying out their respective constitutional and statutory mandates.

The heads of the institutions also underscored the importance of responsible leadership, effective oversight and institutional independence in promoting good governance.

The CCIO brings together heads of commissions and independent offices to facilitate consultation, cooperation and the exchange of best practices on issues affecting their work.

The meeting comes amid continued demands for public institutions to demonstrate accountability in the management of public funds and ensure that public resources are used responsibly.

Through its participation in the forum, the EACC works alongside other oversight institutions in efforts to safeguard public resources, uphold ethical standards and promote transparency in public service.
