Speaking during a fundraiser in Kisumu county on Sunday, CS Wandayi reaffirmed the Orange Democratic Movement's commitment to working with President Ruto’s administration and will support his ambitions.
He said that the late Raila Odinga's mission to unite the nation by partnering with government must be upheld, noting that his wish should continue to be honoured.
"To honor him we should not deviate from the path he left us. That is the path that will unite all Kenyans," he noted.
He added that all those who supported the former Prime Minister should throw their weight behind President Ruto's political faction to secure victory in the next elections.
"There are only two formations going in to 2027. President William Ruto or Rigathi Gachagua. Ruto is our friend, let us have our own issues but we must agree that he is our friend," he noted.
"We have to stay united and vote as a bloc because that is the only way our vote will count."
Jitters have been sparked within ODM party after the demise of Mr. Odinga, as leaders have questioned the political party's future
Meanwhile, ODM Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati has asserted that the party will remain part of the broad-based government until 2027.
He argued that ODM’s involvement in the broad-based arrangement does not mean it has joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition and will remain, an independent political party committed to defending justice and transparency.
