KCB FC will be aiming to return to winning
ways this Sunday when they face Murang’a SEAL at the SportPesa Arena in
Murang’a County.
The bankers, who currently sit tenth on the FKF
Premier League table with six points, have recorded two wins in their last five
matches and are determined to make a strong statement away from home.
Head Coach Robert Matano expressed optimism
about his team’s readiness, saying the players have shown hunger and focus
throughout the week.
“We have prepared well, and the mood in camp
is positive. Murang’a SEAL is always a difficult opponent, especially at home,
but we have worked on key areas that will give us an edge. The objective is
clear: we want to collect all three points and build momentum,” said Matano.
With both sides eyeing an early-season boost,
Sunday’s encounter promises end-to-end action as KCB looks to reassert its
competitive edge and climb higher up the Premier League standings.
Team captain Humphrey Mieno echoed the coach’s
confidence, highlighting the team’s unity and desire to bounce back.
“We know this match is important for us as a
group. Everyone is motivated to give their best and fight for the badge. If we
stay disciplined and take our chances, we can get the result we want,” Mieno
remarked.
The team was initially scheduled to face
Nairobi United in a midweek fixture, but the match has been postponed to a
later date, giving Matano and his charges more time to
fine-tune their tactics and rest ahead of the Murang’a trip.
KCB will also be boosted by the return of
Francis Kahiro, who has rejoined the squad and is expected to play a key role
in the attack. His pace and creativity will be crucial as the bankers look to
break down Murang’a SEAL’s resilient defense.
