Citizen TV journalist Mwanahamisi Hamadi is among the 184 people honoured as a Shujaa during Mashujaa Day 2025.

The journalist is widely known for hosting TV segment ‘Mwanamke Bomba', which showcases women breaking the glass ceiling and their accomplishments in society.

Mwanahamisi has been a champion of women's rights and empowerment, and has spotlighted women who do great jobs but hardly get the recognition they deserve.

"I have been a journalist for over 20 years and have covered many programs, but I decided to major in women and give them a voice. I saw that the world, specifically our country, has decided to crown me," she stated.

She highlights that 'Mwanamke Bomba' makes viewers relate to stories that are covered and in turn, inspire them.

Most notable episodes on the segment include 83-year-old Cecilia Wangari, aka 'Shosh Mangoma', a self-taught music technician who fixes music system for public and personal vehicles at her garage.

Another episode celebrated Diana A Naker, the first and only female combat pilot in the Kenya Army, who grew up in Turkana County and not once did she envision herself plying her craft in a male dominated career. Diana's story has been viewed by over 1.1 million people.

Mwanahamisi crowns different women in every episode and today, she was crowned.
