United are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations for their return
fixture against Tunisian giants Etoile Sportif du Sahel after seizing a 2-0
advantage in the first leg at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Sunday.
Speaking
in a post-match interview, United head coach Salim Ali emphasized that their
priority now is refining their tactical discipline for the away fixture in
Sousse, Tunisia, as they bid to secure a safe passage to the next round.
Ali explained that the team would not only
focus on the defensive aspect but also enhance their attacking transitions. He
adds that this balance will be critical in capitalizing against Sahel, a proper
combination of tactics being vital for the team for an excellent match.
"We will try as much as possible to get a
team that can combine and work on the tactics, because it is the key thing in
the away match." Salim commented.
The
coach also downplayed the idea of chasing history, stating that the team's goal
is to deliver their game plan effectively.
"If we keep the same morale and
commitment with the players, history will come again in Kenya." He adds.
Nairobi United’s victory at home gave them a
significant advantage as they head into the second leg, and the players are
reportedly hoping to deliver another strong performance away.
With focus, discipline, and tactical precision,
Nairobi United hopes to secure progression and continue making a mark on the
continental stage, a feat that would add another proud chapter to Kenya’s
football history.
