Isaac Gachoki, the butcher who made headlines for mutilating another man's genitals over a Ksh.50 debt, will remain in custody for 13 days while awaiting a probation report to determine if he is eligible for release on bond.

The order was issued by Principal Magistrate Claire Wanyama of the Kerugoya Law Courts when the suspect was arraigned before her on Thursday.

Gachoki reportedly committed the offence on February 7, attacking and stabbing Japhiter Muthii multiple times in the scrotum after he went to ask for his Ksh.50 balance for work done for the main suspect.

Muthii was later taken to a local clinic before being referred to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital, where he underwent scrotum reconstruction surgery.

Jane Muchoki, a nurse at the hospital, said: “He (Muthii) came to this facility with serious wounds and after operation we have managed to rectify the scrotum, there was a cut at the scrotum exposing the testes, for now his genitals are safe.”
