Heads of State of the East African Community (EAC) have on Monday morning signed a historic multilateral financing compact dedicating USD 3.5 billion toward trans-national infrastructure modernization.
The agreement formally authorizes construction of the standard gauge railway extension linking Naivasha, Malaba, Kampala, and Kigali, alongside synchronized electric grid transmission corridors.
The declaration was signed following high-level bilateral summits in Arusha, Tanzania, with regional trade associations hailing the breakthrough as a transformative triumph for East African economic integration.
