Bandari FC’s interim head coach John Baraza will be going for victory and nothing less as they take on visitors Murang’a SEAL on Saturday at the Mbaraki Stadium, the ex-Kenyan international has said.

Baraza, who took charge at the Dockers earlier this week following the dismissal of coach Ken Odhiambo, is confident that his squad has turned a corner, particularly in attack — an area that has been of major concern in recent games.

It is that shift that he expects to pay off immediately, against SEAL.

"It’s one of the areas that has been a problem for us," Baraza admitted during a pre-match press conference.

"But we’ve worked on it all week long. My strikers and wingers now know exactly what is required to get the goals and deliver victory," added the coach, who was a lethal attacker in his prime as a player.

Bandari FC heads into the match at 14th on the log, with just one point from their opening two fixtures of the 2025–2026 season.

A defeat to Shabana FC and a draw against Kariobangi Sharks sealed Odhiambo’s fate — and now the pressure is on Baraza to deliver results.

But the former Sofapaka legend remains respectful of Murang’a SEAL, saying it will take a huge effort to beat them.

"Murang’a Seal is a good team. You’ll remember they led the league for a while last season. They also come into this game with a win over APS Bomet, so it won’t be easy," he said.

"However, playing at home, I believe we have everything it takes to get the job done."

Adding to the squad’s morale boost is the return of long-term absentee and team captain Andrew Juma, who’s been out for nearly a year with injury.

"I’m happy to be back with the boys. It’s been a tough time for me, but the energy in camp is great. We’re fired up, and I truly believe we’ll walk away with a win," averred Juma.

Off the pitch, Bandari FC is also undergoing a transformation.

Club Communications Director Steven Heywood revealed that the team is embracing a modern, tech-forward approach to club management.

"We want to digitalize our operations under the leadership of our Chairman and CEO," Heywood explained.

"We’ve already started with match-day ticketing and plan to move swiftly into other areas. We're also seeking partnerships with outlets like Sports Houses and Supermarkets to distribute our replica jerseys and expand our visibility," he added.
