Bandari FC returned to winning form with a 2–0 victory over Sofapaka in a Kenyan Premier League match today at Mbaraki Stadium.

Fifteen-year-old Bandari Youth sensation Erisat Orute, recently promoted to the senior team, was the star of the match after scoring both goals in the first half.

Orute opened the scoring in the 5th minute, weaving past three Sofapaka defenders before slotting a low shot past goalkeeper Edward Olak. Just two minutes later, Darius Msagha attempted to extend the lead with a powerful 20-yard effort, but his shot flew over the bar.

The teenage forward completed his brace soon after, curling a superb left-side strike that left goalkeeper Olak with no chance as Bandari doubled their advantage.

Sofapaka registered their first shot on target in the 30th minute when Joseph Kuloba unleashed a 25-yard free kick, but Bandari goalkeeper Levis Opiyo comfortably gathered the attempt.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, Kuloba again threatened, but Opiyo reacted brilliantly to push the strike out for a corner.

With nine minutes remaining, Msagha continued his influential display, delivering a promising cross that captain Andrew Juma narrowly headed over the bar.

Head coach Mohammed Borji secured his first win in charge of Bandari, though he declined to speak to the media after the match.

Speaking after his match-winning brace, Orute expressed his joy and optimism.

“I am happy for my first start, and I was able to score two goals and help restore hope to our fans that Bandari is great and will always remain great,” he said.

Bandari Youth head coach Alex Shikanga praised the young striker’s potential and work ethic.

“This morning, I told him he has the ability to make a difference for the team, and today you saw it. I’m very happy for him,” Shikanga said.

“He has shown other youth players that through hard work, you can rise to the top.”
