After finishing ninth last season, National Super League side, 3K, are aiming to go one step further - gain promotion to the Premier League – with Coach Francis Chege optimistic they can attain their target if they record a good run.
"We
are aiming to earn a premier league promotion but we also know it is not easy
because other teams are strong and have the same ambition. We were on course to
premier league promotion last season, but lost the momentum, in match day eight,
to match day 21," he explained.
At the same
time the team is targeting three points when they get their 2025/2026 National
Super League campaign underway this weekend against Nzoia Sugar FC at Sudi
Stadium.
Team
coach Francis Chege, in a reflection with
Citizen Digital acknowledged that Nzoia have the experience, but believes
the training and preparations his players have had will be enough to secure
them victory.
"We
have prepared well in preseason and I think we are ready to collect three
points in our Saturday match against Nzoia Sugar," Chege noted.
Last
season, 3K drew 1-1, in both their encounters against Nzoia. This season, they
are aiming for not less than four points against the sugar millers.
The
match between 3K and Nzoia Sugar is scheduled for Sunday at Sudi Stadium in
Bungoma County, kicking off at 3:00 p.m. The club travels to Bungoma after
sealing a lucrative sponsorship deal with a local gaming firm on Tuesday.
