MWC Kigali will take place from October 21 to October 23 at the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda’s capital.
Here, industry players look forward to charting the digital future of Africa through the connectivity landscape, AI transformation and economic transformation through Fintech.
MWC Kigali, which is GSMA’s flagship African connectivity event, is a platform for convening innovators, policymakers, and business leaders to explore how connectivity and digital technologies are accelerating Africa’s transformation.
“This year’s event switches gears beyond counting connections and coverage to delivering the connectivity, skills, and innovation which confronts the challenges still ahead, and accelerates Africa’s growth for decades to come. Let’s join leaders from across the ecosystem in Kigali next week in pressing forward through action,” said Angela Wamola, Head of Africa, GSMA.
Looking towards an AI future, African countries have made efforts in building human capital and seeking collaborations to become significant players in the global AI landscape.
Through ethical AI practices, Africa is keen on technological advancements and intelligent growth that will be leveraged to achieve a connected continent.
The continent also looks at the promising future from the deployment of 5G technology, offering “unprecedented speed, capacity, and reliability in wireless communication. Africa is poised to unleash its full potential and emerge as a global leader in the connected age.”
In Africa, Kigali hosts GSMA’s MWC event series, which is also hosted in Barcelona and Shanghai annually.
