7 people killed, others injured in Salama accident

Seven people have been confirmed dead, and 27 others sustained serious injuries following an accident involving four vehicles in the Ack Salama area along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway, Makueni County.
The accident, which occurred around 9:30 PM on Sunday, involved a bus, a trailer, and two other private vehicles.
Mukaa sub-county police commander Hussein Abduba confirmed
the Sunday crash involving a PSV bus and a lorry.
According to Abduba, the bus belonging to Rambo Sacco was
heading towards Nairobi. On reaching the Machakos–Wote junction, past Salama town, it collided with a lorry coming from Nairobi.
“The lorry left its lane and entered the opposite lane,” added
Commander Abduba.
The fatalities include four men and three women who were on the bus.
Those injured were rushed to Sultan Hamud Hospital for treatment
as the vehicles were towed away from the scene.
