Suba North parliamentary aspirant John Silas Jakakimba has appointed Mary Oketch as his Parliamentary Campaign Contact and Chief Focal Strategist ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a statement issued on Monday, Jakakimba said Oketch will lead the campaign strategy for ‘Team Dayat Nyaka Loki,’ a grassroots movement that he says is focused on delivering a new leadership and development agenda for Suba North Constituency in Homa Bay County.

He said Oketch was selected based on her professional experience, ability to work with diverse groups and her track record in coordinating successful political and field campaigns.

According to the statement, Oketch will head a dedicated campaign team and oversee the planning, coordination, management and execution of Jakakimba's parliamentary campaign.

Her responsibilities will include developing and implementing campaign strategies, coordinating grassroots volunteers, overseeing communications and media engagement, and managing relationships with political party officials and electoral agencies.

Jakakimba expressed confidence that Oketch would steer the campaign with "professionalism, integrity, attention to detail and the requisite verve and dedication."

He said the campaign aims to secure support across all five wards of Suba North—Lambwe, Gembe, Kasgunga, Rusinga Island and Mfangano Island—ahead of the August 2027 General Election.

"I wish her well in her new role and, of course, in the realization of the joint success of Suba North in this aspiration," Jakakimba said.
